Description
Invasive fungal diseases (IFDs) pose a significant threat to human health, particularly in the immunocompromised such as cancer chemotherapy, organ transplantation, antimicrobial therapy and abdominal surgery are among the medical procedures that constitute the main risk factors predisposing to invasive fungal infections (IFI). IFI are associated with mortality rates, ranging from 2% to 60%, depending on the etiology of invasive infection and the type of underlying disease, with high hospital costs
